Piano Lesson
Piano Lessons....

Beginner through advanced piano lessons are offered for students of all ages.  Sightreading, memorization, proper piano and performance technique, theory knowledge, aural skills, and composition are some of the many facets of music that are taught in private piano lessons at Garrison Music.  Further, in order to tailor each lesson to the students learning needs, a wide range of teaching techniques are used to fully engage each student.   For younger students, the use of various instruments, movement through music, improvisation, and even singing (if the student is comfortable with singing) are used to keep students engaged and motivated to learn.  For older students, the drums are often used to learn difficult rhythms as well as incorporating popular music into their repertoire (if the student has a preference toward these types of genres).   All students learn a wide variety of music in order to be given a well-rounded musical background. However, during lessons it is highly encouraged that students communicate their likes and dislikes so that we can do more of what they enjoy to keep them motivated and eager to continue learning and growing as a pianist.  Lastly, three yearly recitals are held for all students, as well as several opportunities for competition such as Junior Festival North and ISSMA for students levels three and above.

Voice Lessons

Voice lessons are offered for students ages 8-18.  Vocal lessons implement a rich variety of music, all while teaching students to use correct posture, breathing techniques, diction and pronunciation, and tone, as well as how to sightread the music.  Lessons are tailored to each student's needs and designed to be fun and motivational learning for the student.  Three yearly recitals are offered for students ready for vocal performance.
